Located within the Glenroy West Primary School grounds, York Street Kindergarten is an integral part of our vibrant learning community. Managed by the Northern Schools Early Years Cluster, York Street Kindergarten offers top-quality programs for both 3 and 4-year-old children.

Specialist Team

The kindergarten boasts a team of specialists, including a speech pathologist, psychologist, and social worker, who work closely with the educators to support the children's developmental needs, learning, well-being, and inclusion in the program.

Supporting children’s language development

York Street kindergarten also runs a Language Program (Hindi) alongside the kindergarten program and delivered by a second Early Childhood Language Teacher. Learning Languages other thank English helps children to improve their overall pre-literacy skills and understanding of how language in general works. To find out more about our language program click here

Children attend the program for 15 hours per week, programs are available 5 hours over 3 days, session times 8.30 – 1.30 pm  or 7.5 hours over 2 days, 8.30 – 4.00 pm.

Long Days

Our on-site York Street Kindergarten has been rated 'Exceeding' in all seven areas of the National Quality Standards!

To enrol your child in the 3 or 4-year-old program at York Street Kindergarten, you first need to register via the Merri-bek City Council. For assistance with the process, call the NSEYC on 9306 1662, email office@nseyc.org.au, or for more information about the enrolment process visit the NSEYC webpage How to enrol. Please note that there are no kindergarten fees required.

Once these forms are completed, scan and send to office@nseyc.org.au and our team can follow up the rest.
